This is a time for rejoicing and for rededication. A quote from Thomas Drier says it well: If we are to enjoy life, now is the time-not tomorrow or next year. The best preparation for a better life next year is a full, complete, harmonious, joyous life this year.

As a school district we are becoming increasingly concerned about illegal drug activity in our schools and community. Recently, some of our Steele High School students were found to be violating our student code of conduct and have been disciplined accordingly. The district has also worked cooperatively with local law enforcement. The drug involved was a prescription painkiller called Opana. The abuse of prescription painkillers, like Opana, is a major problem in our society.
